Deep co-added sky from catalina sky survey images

چکیده
ABSTRACT A number of synoptic sky surveys are underway or being planned. Typically, they done with small telescopes and relatively short exposure times. search for transient variable sources involves comparison deeper baseline images, ideally obtained through the same telescope camera. With that in mind, we have stacked images from 0.68 m Schmidt on Mt. Bigelow taken over 10 yr as part Catalina Sky Survey. In order to generate deep reference Real-time Transient Survey (CRTS), close 0.8 million 8000 fields covering 27 000 sq. deg gone into stack goes up 3 mag than individual images. CRTS system does not use a filter imaging; hence, there is no standard passband which optical magnitude measured. We estimate depth by comparing these wide-band unfiltered co-added g band find image ranges 22.0 24.2 across sky, 200-image attaining an equivalent AB sensitivity 22.8. compared various state-of-the-art software packages co-adding astronomical used swarp stacking. describe here details process adopted. This methodology may be useful other panoramic imaging applications, well. The available server at Inter-University Centre Astronomy Astrophysics.

Digital Sky Survey
Current X-ray observatories, archival X-ray data, and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) represent a powerful combination for addressing key questions about active galactic nuclei (AGN). We describe a few selected issues at the forefront of X-ray AGN research and the relevance of the SDSS to them. Bulk X-ray/SDSS AGN investigations, X-ray weak AGN, red AGN, hard X-ray selected AGN, high-redshi...
متن کاملPhotometry from online Digitized Sky Survey Plates
Online Digital Sky Survey (DSS) material is often used to obtain information on newly discovered variable stars for older epochs (e.g. Nova progenitors, flare stars, . . . ). We present here the results of an investigation of photometry on online digital sky survey material in small fields calibrated by CCD sequences. We compared different source extraction mechanisms and found, that even down ...
متن کاملScientific goals of the UKIRT Infrared Deep Sky Survey
UKIDSS is the next generation near–infrared sky survey. The survey will commence in early 2004, and over 7 years will collect 100 times as many photons as 2MASS. UKIDSS will use the UKIRT Wide Field Camera to survey 7500 square degrees of the northern sky, extending over both high and low Galactic latitudes, in JHK to K=18.5 (over three magnitudes deeper than 2MASS). UKIDSS will be the true nea...
متن کاملSegmenting Sky Pixels in Images
Outdoor scene parsing models are often trained on ideal datasets and produce quality results. However, this leads to a discrepancy when applied to the real world. The quality of scene parsing, particularly sky classification, decreases in night time images, images involving varying weather conditions, and scene changes due to seasonal weather. This project focuses on approaching these challenge...
متن کاملCorrecting for Circumsolar and Near-Horizon Errors in Sky Cover Retrievals from Sky Images
Fractional sky cover amounts retrieved from sky imagery are overestimated significantly at times due to occurrences of “whitening” near the sun, and near the horizon for low sun, in the images. This phenomenon occurs due to forward scattering of visible light by aerosols and haze, and the intensity range limitations of the detectors of the cameras used to record the sky images. Our results sugg...
